In this episode, Ernest flies to transcendent Tofino, British Columbia, where the surf’s up, the trees enchant, the stories enlighten, and the laughs abound!
The adventure starts with Ernest hitting the waves at Cox Bay Beach for a surf lesson with Tiff Olsen. Ernest then meets up with ecopreneur, Stevie Dennis, for a boat ride around Clayoquot Sound and to learn the eco-friendly potentials of kelp. Next, Ernest and Stevie head back to his store, Naas Foods, an indigenous-led company committed to feeding the planet with delicious and sustainable seafood.
Then, Ernest meets up with Mandy Farmer, friend and proud visionary behind Hotel Zed, a hotel chain that brings a funky and retro twist to hospitality. After touring the hotel, Ernest pays a visit to Vancouver Island’s stunning temperate rainforest for some mindfulness and forest bathing.
Ernest meets with Saya Masso, a tribal parks guardian, for a hike along Big Tree Trail in Meares Island and to learn the significance of park guardians and how we as visitors can respect the land.
