Ep 208 - Detroit: One Nation Under A Groove

“At the end of the day, we are all Detroit, and we’re all here for each other, with each other.” —Carlos Parisi

Detroit, Michigan: Known as Motown, the Motor City, Detroit Rock City, and more, this tough-as-nails town welcomes Ernest with open arms.

Ernest starts off Downtown with his friend, entrepreneur Deba Harper, who shows him the magic of Detroit’s glorious Art Deco architecture and pleasant urban parklets.

Then, his foodie friend Carlos Parisi takes Ernest for a delicious spin through vibrant Mexicantown, where music, art, and food culture from across Mexico come together in a scrumptious golden triangle.

Later, Ernest eats again after a jaunt with adventure capitalist and hometown boy Scott Brills through the traditional Irish district of Corktown, where they grab enormous sandwiches at local favorite Mudgie’s.

Finally, glamorous travelpreneur and Detroit native Kennedy Johnson takes Ernest to her favorite spots in verdant Belle Isle Park before reuniting with the gang over more delicious delectables. Detroit is finger-licking good!
