It’s a Wrap! Filming for Season Two of FLY BROTHER with Ernest White II Officially Ends

It’s not easy filming a travel docu-series in a time when exploring the globe, both near and far, is more complicated than ever. Luckily, the FLY BROTHER crew has never shied away from a challenge.

With limited international travel options available, the team decided to switch gears for Season Two of FLY BROTHER with Ernest White II and set their eyes on domestic destinations. Though Ernest is used to exploring outside of his home country, he knew this was the perfect opportunity to get to know some new places in the U.S., while also revisiting some of his favorites.

Season Two kicked off with filming in San Francisco, where Ernest roamed the city with his friends master chef and television host Martin Yan; former travel editor of the San Francisco Chronicle, Spud Hilton; Ana Ayala, vice president of programs at Project Open Hand; and native San Franciscan and financial fitness coach, Walter Hughes, Jr

From California, Ernest made his way to San Juan, Puerto Rico; the Adirondacks in New York; Newark, New Jersey; Nashville, Tennessee; Detroit, Michigan; Natchez, Mississippi; Kansas; and Hawaii. After nearly two months of hard work — and lots of fun, too, of course — Ernest and the FLY BROTHER crew wrapped up filming this week in scenic Alaska.

Season Two of FLY BROTHER with Ernest White II will air on Public Television Stations across the U.S. sometime this fall. Exact dates are still to be determined, so stay tuned for more details!

If you’d like to help FLY BROTHER cover the costs for creating this season, as well as season three (spoiler: we’ll be filming internationally soon!), please consider making a charitable contribution to our crowdfunding campaign through Filmmakers Collaborative.

As always, we appreciate all the love and support of the FLY BROTHER community.

Let’s fly!

    Ernest,
Just viewed your amazing visit to Tajikistan for the second time, and I feel moved to reach out to tell you how much I enjoyed the program. Your easy-going, informative profile of the country, its people, the culture and the incredible natural and cultural treasures in Dushanbe and the countryside makes me want to visit there someday soon. Thank you for a most inspiring look at Tajikistan!

  2. Thank you for your kind words Joanne! The entire team and I are happy you enjoyed the episode, and hope you enjoy Season Two, coming out later this year. 🙂

  3. Great to see a brother of color doing some phenomenal things. I hope to travel soon when God blesses me hopefully with the funds. So many places I want but yet to explore. Have fun with your travels
