Ernest tackles North America’s most multicultural city during Toronto LGBT Pride celebrations along with his friends, travel maven Oneika “The Traveller” Raymond and celebrated chef, educator, and tour guide John S.J. Lee. Ernest meets John at The Jerk Spot, a hole-in-the-wall Jamaican restaurant. There they chat about the perks of growing up in the diverse environment of Toronto and ponder why the best Caribbean food always seems to be found in hole-in-the-wall restaurants with no frills, just tasty food.
When Oneika arrives, they place their orders and chow down on jerk chicken and more—all of which gets the thumbs up from Oneika, a Canadian of Jamaican descent. Then they take to the streets, exploring the buzz of exciting Kensington Market as they boogie to the music of the street performers. He sits down for more conversation with Oneika to get her perspective on what makes Toronto so special before they make their way to the Pride festivities going on that day.
Toronto’s Pride celebrations are some of the biggest in the world, and Ernest just so happens to make it in time for all the fun, complete with a float-filled parade.
