Ep 301 - Delhi, India: De-Lovely

“Play cricket with friends, ride the ricks, visit historical landmarks such as India Gate and Humayun’s Tomb, and eat plenty of food!"

In this episode, Ernest ventures to the Big D—Delhi, India—to play cricket with friends, ride the ricks, visit historical landmarks such as India Gate and Humayun’s Tomb, and eat plenty of food!

The adventure starts with Ernest joining friend and fellow filmmaker, Tejpol Singh, for a lesson in one of India’s biggest sports, cricket. Then Ernest gets a true taste of Delhi transit and rides the rickshaw around town. At his next stop, Ernest visits the historical India Gate, a memorial for the Indian soldiers who fought for the British Army in the First World War.

Ernest then meets up with tour guide Eesha Singh, to explore and learn the stories of Humayun’s Tomb. Next, Eesha takes Ernest on a food tour around the Village of Humayunpur, a South Delhi neighborhood with many delicious spots to eat.

Ernest then meets the women of Insha-E-Noor, and initiative whose mission is to revive traditional arts and crafts to give women economic opportunity in Delhi. Ernest takes part in a crafting workshop on Sanjhi, while also learning about how the initiative has helped to encourage education and opportunity to empower women in their community.
