In this episode, Ernest is joined by friend Anuj Tyagi to explore the Pink City, capital of Rajasthan—Jaipur, India—for a royal feast of friendship, history, culture, and lots of flavor!

The adventure starts with Ernest joining filmmaker and friend Anuj Tyagi at The Hawa Mahal, a gorgeous pink palace in the city of Jaipur. They head back to Anuj’s home, where he surprises Ernest with a traditional welcome song and dance. Next, Ernest gets a wardrobe upgrade as Anuj provides him with traditional Indian garments to fit right in with the locals!

Then, Ernest and Anuj head back into the city to hit the bazaars, where Ernest learns the ins and outs of haggling and how to get a good deal on some new shoes. After working up an appetite, Ernest gets a taste of traditional Jaipur spices as Anuj serves him a meal fit for a king. 

Next, Ernest and Anuj visit one of Jaipur’s most famous tourist attractions called the Panna Meena ka Kund, a historic step well and rainwater catchment known for its beautiful and symmetrical stairways. They then visit the historical Bihari Temple, where locals still go for blessings from Lord Ganesha though it was built in the 17th century. Lastly, they visit Anuj’s friend Mujhahid Khan, a jeweler and emerald expert who shares the significance of the jewelry business to Jaipur and to many generations of family.
