Celebrating Pride Month

Happy Pride Month!

For years, people around the world have taken the month of June to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, but long after the calendar rolls past June 30th, we will continue to show our love and support for people of all sexualities and gender expressions. After all, that’s what FLY BROTHER stands for: the power of human connection across all backgrounds.

And though there is a seriousness to Pride Month when we think of the progress that’s still left to be made in fighting for equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community, this month is also a time to party and have fun.

In fact, did you know that Toronto hosts one of the biggest Pride events in the world? People flock there every year for the Pride celebrations, and in episode three of FLY BROTHER with Ernest White II, our host gets to experience some of the festivities. Beyond joining in on the fun of a Pride parade, Ernest also chows down on delicious Jamaican food and learns about Toronto’s multicultural side from his friends travel maven Oneika “The Traveller” Raymond and celebrated chef, educator, and tour guide John S.J. Lee.

If you missed out on this episode when it aired on Public Television Stations across the country, you can still watch it on the FLY BROTHER YouTube channel. Be sure to like and subscribe while you’re there, so you can catch all the other bonus content and FULL episodes that we post.

Happy Pride, and let’s fly!
