Cape Town: The City Beautiful

Cape Town, located at the southern tip of Africa, is a vibrant and multicultural city that offers a wide range of activities and attractions. From stunning beaches and scenic drives to historical landmarks and world-class cuisine, there’s something for everyone in Cape Town.

South Africa has a long and complex history and the landscape of Cape Town is still continuing to evolve even to this day. Rarely do we have the chance to visit such a beautiful city that is so rapidly changing right before our eyes. This is just part of what makes Cape Town a must-see place on any travelers bucket list.

Nestled between the mountains and the sea, the city embodies a unique feel and stunning natural beauty that is hard to beat. Make sure to head down to the shore and check out the  vibrant V&A Waterfront and the Sea Point Promenade, known for some of the best sunset views in South Africa. For a more cultural experience, we recommend heading on over to the African Arts and Crafts Market on Long Street where local vendors sell everything from handmade crafts to ostrich eggs.

It would be a shame to visit South Africa and miss out on the heartwarming local cuisine. For a local home cooked feel we recommend stopping in at Big Momma’s Home Cooked Food where the dishes are packed with flavor and are guaranteed to warm your soul (and your stomach!). The Dog’s Bollocks is another local spot where the burgers and beers simply cannot be beat.

Whether you’re visiting Cape Town for the views, the people, or the food the city is guaranteed to deliver on all fronts. For more info on this gorgeous destination, click here to watch the Cape Town episode of FLY BROTHER with Ernest White II, available for streaming now at PBS.org.
