Another core belief of Ernest and the FLY BROTHER community? The power to use travel as a force for positive change in the world. That’s why Ernest is proud to serve on the 2021 Board of Directors for Impact Travel Alliance (ITA).
ITA is a global community and non-profit organization that aims to educate and empower travelers with the knowledge they need to have a positive impact on local communities and the environment.
According to the ITA website, the organization’s goal is to “mobilize all travelers to understand, choose and advocate for sustainable travel options.” ITA works towards this mission by creating content rooted in education and advocacy for sustainable tourism, showing others why sustainability doesn’t have to be viewed as a niche form of travel. It’s a principle that can be applied to any destination, budget or travel style. ITA also takes on a more holistic view of sustainable tourism, going beyond a destination’s environment to also positively impact the economy and community.
In addition to its content, ITA has also created a network of chapter organizations around the world so both travelers and travel professionals can network, learn from each other, and help build a more sustainable future for both the industry and the world as a whole. ITA also hosts several events and challenges to encourage people to do their part in positively influencing the world through travel.
